Having different people in the dog’s household (pack) enforce behaviors and learning differently cause your dog to have confusion and anxiety. Individual consistency is also important. If you let your dog jump up on people sometimes and don’t let her at other times it can lead to inconsistent behaviors.
Repetition is the way dogs learn. During the learning phase for any obedience command or for modifying behavior, the desired action must be repeated over and over again until it becomes a habit.
